These images are just a small selection of my silver prints and have either been scanned or copied from the original prints. Since going over to digital imaging I havn't been back in the darkroom. I always worked with fibre based paper but towards the end I was finding the papers not giving the same quality as a few years earlier due I think to some of the more hazardous components being banned. I often used to tone many of my images and I found that having spent perhaps a hour or two producing a print it would tone disastrously, again most probably due to a change in the coatings. Since going digital I now find that so much more control over the tones is possible than in the darkroom and particularly working in monochrome, extreme contrast can be added, far more than anything that could be achieved in the darkroom. Some of the images on 'My Photographs' page are in fact taken on film but have either been enhanced digitally like adding a new sky or in a couple of instances were nearly unprintable due to minor processing faults with the negatives.
